Numerous on-site experiments and extensive usage experience have shown that even at slightly higher temperatures, S31254 has high resistance to crevice corrosion in seawater, with only a few types of  stainless steel having this performance

The corrosion resistance of S31254 in acidic solutions and oxidizing halide solutions required for paper bleaching production can be compared to nickel based alloys and titanium alloys with strong corrosion resistance.

Due to its high nitrogen content, S31254 has higher mechanical strength than other types of austenitic stainless steel. In addition, S31254 also has high ductility, impact strength, and good weldability.

The high molybdenum content of S31254 can lead to a higher oxidation rate during annealing, resulting in a rougher surface than ordinary stainless steel after pickling. But this has no adverse effect on the corrosion resistance of the steel.
